COVID-19 – Corona Virus

Due to the developments in the UK, and around the world, regarding COVID-19, we are following government advice on social distancing measures in order to reduce the transmission of the virus.  See here for further information: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults

We have a duty of care to our staff and having assessed the health and safety risks in relation to COVID-19, we have decided to limit face to face contact with our clients.  We are fortunate that our work permits us to do this without affecting the quality of service to our clients.  Our staff will be working from their own homes, rather than from our office or from our outstations at the West London Family Court and Barnet County Court.

What does this mean for me as a client?

This means that we will not be offering any face to face appointments in the interim.

Any appointments already booked in will be changed to telephone consultations.  Any new appointments will be booked in as telephone consultations.  Clients will be asked to scan and send us any documentation we require to advise and guide them with their case.

Representation at Hearings

If you have a hearing booked in our diary, we will provide representation for you at your hearing, unless it is contrary to our own, or your, safety. HMCTS has issued guidance which appears to indicate business as usual in courts across the country – and individuals will be contacted if their case is going to be adjourned due to the situation.  See here for further information: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-courts-and-tribunals-planning-and-preparation

Pro Bono Duty Services (WLFC, BCC) are suspended, we are only accepting fee paying clients at present.

If you have any queries, we are available by email from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and will be delighted to book you in for telephone consultations and to continue to undertake work on your case.
